    Chapter 1 Before You Begin Host System Requirements To install the software, the host system must have: The host RAM requirements vary depending on the platform and the applications that run concurrently with the software. See information on disk space requirements. User Access Privileges Installers must have root privileges to install the software.

    About the Installation Script When you start the installation, you copy the installation script from the media to a directory on the RAC host. When you invoke the script, it detects the host system machine type and operating system version. Based on this information and on options you choose, the script extracts only selected files from the media.

Loading and building an image on an unsupported platform is allowed so that you can build on a system that has access to the distribution media and then move the newly compiled files to the actual host.

    Loading the Installation Script The first step in the installation sequence is to access the installation script on the distribution CD-ROM. The script also supports loading software from a hard disk or network file. the platforms supported by the software. If the script cannot identify your host as one of the supported platforms, you can select a platform that closely resembles your host.

Indicate desired action: 1) Install Annex Software 2) Install Annex Manager 3) Quit Enter desired action [1]: At this point, you can continue the software installation, install only Annex Manager, or quit the session.
