Always check all external cables as well as internal cables.
Always ensure to have the newest software version installed. This is done via
Internet: Menu > Setup > Service > Software update > Check for updates >
Automatic Download, via the ServiceTool.
The ServiceTool also includes noise and sound sources for testing as well as
colours, etc. for picture testing.
Always make a complete backup of the product by the help of the ServiceTool (see
under Repair > Chassis and follow the instructions) before starting the fault
finding activity.
Always make a complete restore of the product by the help of the ServiceTool (see
under Repair > Chassis and follow the instructions) after the fault finding activity.
If e.g. an internet service provider prohibits the connection to an NTP time server,
update of software and PUC tables via the Internet is not possible.
It is necessary to have access to an NTP server to access the BeoPortal from which
updates and PUC codes can be downloaded.
Connection to the NTP server can be checked by a PC connected to the same
network as the TV.
From the PC press Start, press RUN or place the cursor in the search field and type
CMD and press Enter. In the cmd-dialog write:
and press Enter.
ping time.bang-olufsen.com
If ping is successful, time and date in the TV is synchronized. Otherwise, let the TV
be connected to an antenna signal that will also synchronize the time and date.
To connection to the BeoPortal, in the cmd-dialog write:
ping beoportal.bang-olufsen.com
If ping is successful there is a connection to the BeoPortal.
Work around:
If no connection to the BeoPortal, instead load SW and/or PUC to a USB device
and connect this to the product.
In case CA cards can not be decoded, it may be due to too many CA cards having
previously been decoded.
To remove decoded CA cards from the list: First: press MENU, SETUP, press RED
button and within 3 seconds press the Centre button.
Then press SETTINGS, and RESET CI+ AUTHENTICATIONS.
and press Enter.
