    This manual only describes products compatible with Gen.2. With some exceptions, first-generation and Gen.2 products of SHIMANO STEPS components are not compatible with each other. For details, refer to the compatibility information on the SHIMANO product website ( https://productinfo.shimano.com/#/com The Gen.2 battery and compatible battery mount are marked “Gen.2” as indicated in the figure.
