Lubrication System

Oil change intervals can vary depending on oil quality,
refer to Lubrication System, page 76.
Oil change intervals must never exceed a period of 12
months.
If you want longer oil change intervals than stated in
the table Lubrication System, page 76, the oil change
interval can under certain conditions be increased. To
see if the engine complies, Volvo Penta oil analysis
need to be performed. Contact your Volvo Penta
dealer for further information.

Oil Level

NOTICE! Check the oil level with engine shut down
and in a horizontal level.
The oil level must be within the marked area on the
dipstick. We recommend that the oil level be checked
on a daily basis.
When checking the oil level; take the oil dipstick out
and wipe it. Put it back and remove it again to read the
oil level.
NOTICE! There are two oil filling holes, drain pipes and
dipsticks, one on each side of the engine.
IMPORTANT:
Do not fill up above the maximum oil level. Only use a
recommended viscosity and quality of oil.
1 Top up the oil through the filling hole at the side of
the engine.
2 Wait 15 minutes after topping up to allow the oil to
reach the sump before checking the level again.
3 Check the level again.
