Product Overview

The Sun GigabitEthernet adapter incorporates a new technology that transfers data

at a rate of one gigabit per second—10 times the rate of a FastEthernet adapter. The

Sun GigabitEthernet adapter targets the increased congestion experienced at the

backbone and server levels by today's networks, while providing a future upgrade

path for high-end workstations that require more bandwidth than FastEthernet can

provide.
