5.8 Condensate drain

When a heat pump is running it produces a considerable amount of water due to the defrosting cycles of
the external coil.

NOTE
Condensate must be disposed of so as to avoid spillage over pedestrian areas.
With particularly cold and prolonged outdoor temperatures, the condensate could freeze outside the unit,
blocking the flow and generating a gradually increasing built-up of ice; therefore, pay particular attention to
the disposal of the condensate, raising the unit off the ground and considering the possibility of installing
heating cables with an antifreeze function.
To prevent the water downstream of the drain from freezing, install the pipe below the frost line (E).
