Quick tips
If the module fails to boot, verify the router's software version. It must be

R2209P15 or later.
CAUTION:
Be patient. The module takes several minutes to boot initially, and you
must not interrupt this process.
Each HP MSR SBM provides two Ethernet ports: one is a built-in Ethernet

port, the other is the Ethernet port on the front panel. The built-in Ethernet
port is reserved for other uses. Do not bring up the port to avoid affecting
the running of other services.
If you have brought up this port and cannot tell which port is the built-in
Ethernet port and which is the Ethernet port on the front panel, perform
the following operations:
Configure the IP address for the PC and make sure the IP address is on the
same network segment with any one of the ports
management IP address from the HP MSR SBM
can ping it through successfully, it indicates that this port is the actual
management Ethernet port. If you cannot ping it through successfully, it
indicates that this port is the build-in Ethernet port, which cannot be used.
