Special tools, testers and aids required
♦ Vehicle system tester V.A.G 1552 with cable
V.A.G 1551/3, 3A, 3B or 3C
Interrogating fault memory
- Connect vehicle system tester V.A.G 1552
and select engine electronics control unit (ad-
dress word 01). The engine should be idling
for this step.

lecting engine electronics control unit

Only if the engine does not start:
- Switch the ignition on.
HELP K Readout in display:
- Enter 02 for the function „Interrogate fault
memory“ and confirm the entry with the key
Q.
K The number of stored faults or „No fault recog-
nized!“ appears in the display.
If no fault is stored:
- Press → key.
HELP K Readout in display:
- End output (function 06).
