IO-Link diagnostics
The manufacturer-specific diagnostics listed in the table are reported via the diagnostic
mechanism of IO-Link. The table below provides information on possible causes and remedial
measures:
Table 12-1
Possible causes and remedial measures
Diagnostics and messages
Preset <> actual configuration
Switching element defective
Supply voltage switching element miss‐
ing
No mains voltage
Switch off - end position right
Switch off - end position left

Manual operation aborted
Manual operation
SIRIUS 3RA2711 function modules for IO-Link
Equipment Manual, 08/2022, A8E96801709001A/RS-AD/006
Possible cause
Configured type of starter or number of
starters not equal to the starters physi‐
cally available
Contactor welded
Contactor coil defective
Function module defective
Auxiliary voltage V
(terminal A3+/Y1)
Aux
< 19.2 V
Main voltage too weak or not present
Local deactivation on the basic module
Local deactivation on the coupling mod‐
ule
Process output image: Clockwise and
counter-clockwise rotation simultane‐
ously active
Operator panel removed in "manual op‐
eration"
Operator panel connected and "manual
operation activated" executed
Possible remedial measures
Correct the physical number of start‐
ers
Correct "starter available" parameter
Correct "type of starter" parameter
Change parameter "Operation at Pre‐
set <> Actual Operation" to "enable":
Replace contactor
Replace contactor
Replace function module
Check the 24 V DC (ES1/PELV) power
supply
Observe notes for group of 4 star-del‐
ta (see Section "Connecting function
modules for IO-Link (Page 84)")
Check circuit breaker
Check main voltage
Close bridge A3+ / Y1-Y2 (limit switch)
(see Section "Input for local shutdown
(Page 88)")
Close bridge Y1-Y2 (limit switch) (see
Section "Input for local shutdown
(Page 88)")
Correct activation by means of process
image
Remount operator panel and perform
"reset to automatic operation" (see Sec‐
tion "Operation using the operator panel
(Page 92)")
None if "manual operation" is sup‐
posed to be valid
Perform "reset to automatic opera‐
tion" to have PLC assume control
