A watermark is special purpose text that can be printed across one or more pages. For example, you can add a word
like Copy, Draft, or Confidential as a watermark instead of stamping it on a document before distribution.
Note: This feature is only available on a Windows computer printing to a network printer.
To print a watermark:
1. In the print driver, click the D D o o c c u u m m e e n n t t O O p p t t i i o o n n s s tab.
2. Click the W W a a t t e e r r m m a a r r k k tab.
3. From the Watermark menu, select the watermark. You can choose from preset watermarks, or create a
customized watermark. You can also manage watermarks from this menu.
4. Under Text, select an option:
• T T e e x x t t : Enter the text in the field, then specify the font.
• T T i i m m e e S S t t a a m m p p : Specify the date and time options, then specify the font.
• P P i i c c t t u u r r e e : To locate the picture, click the Browse icon.
5. Specify the scaling angle and position of the watermark.
• Select the scaling option that specifies the size of the picture in relation to the original image. Use the
arrows to scale the image in increments of 1%.
• To define the angle of the image on the page, specify the position option or to rotate the image left or right
by increments of 1, use the arrows.
• To define the location of the image on the page, specify the position option, or to move the image in each
direction in increments of 1, use the arrows.
6. Under L L a a y y e e r r i i n n g g , select how to print the watermark.
• P P r r i i n n t t i i n n B B a a c c k k g g r r o o u u n n d d prints the watermark behind the text and graphics in the document.
• B B l l e e n n d d : This option combines the watermark with the text and graphics in the document. A blended
watermark is translucent, so you can see both the watermark and the document content.
• P P r r i i n n t t i i n n F F o o r r e e g g r r o o u u n n d d prints the watermark over the text and graphics in the document.
7. Click P P a a g g e e s s , then select the pages to print the watermark:
• P P r r i i n n t t o o n n A A l l l l P P a a g g e e s s prints the watermark on all pages of your document.
• P P r r i i n n t t o o n n P P a a g g e e 1 1 O O n n l l y y prints the watermark only on the first page of the document.
8. If you select a picture as a watermark, specify the lightness settings for the image.
9. Click O O K K .
O R I E N TAT I O N
Orientation allows you to select the direction that the page prints.
• For Windows, the Orientation tab is on the Document Options tab.
