Getting Started

3. At the License Agreement, select I I A A g g r r e e e e , then click N N e e x x t t .
4. To install the printer support software, select S S o o f f t t w w a a r r e e , then click N N e e x x t t .
5. In the Software and Documentation window, clear the check box for any unnecessary options.
6. Click N N e e x x t t .
7. To complete the installation, click F F i i n n i i s s h h .
I N S TA L L I N G T H E D R I V E R S A N D U T I L I T I E S FO R M A C I N TO S H O S X
1. Insert the Software and Documentation disc into the appropriate drive on your computer.
2. Open Xerox ® Print Drivers 3.xx.x.dmg/.pkg as needed for your printer.
3. To run Xerox ® Print Drivers 3.xx.x.dmg/.pkg, double-click the appropriate file name.
4. When prompted, click C C o o n n t t i i n n u u e e .
5. To accept the license agreement, click I I A A g g r r e e e e .
6. To accept the current installation location, click I I n n s s t t a a l l l l , or select another location for the installation files, then
click I I n n s s t t a a l l l l .
7. If prompted, enter your password, then click O O K K .
8. From the list of discovered printers, select your printer, then click N N e e x x t t .
9. If your printer does not appear in the list of discovered printers:
a. Click the N N e e t t w w o o r r k k P P r r i i n n t t e e r r I I c c o o n n .
b. Type the IP address of your printer, then click C C o o n n t t i i n n u u e e .
c. Select your printer in the list of discovered printers, then click C C o o n n t t i i n n u u e e .
10. If your printer was not detected, verify that the printer is powered on and that the Ethernet or USB cable is
connected properly.
11. To accept the print queue message, click O O K K .
12. Select or clear the S S e e t t P P r r i i n n t t e e r r a a s s D D e e f f a a u u l l t t and P P r r i i n n t t a a T T e e s s t t P P a a g g e e check boxes.
13. Click C C o o n n t t i i n n u u e e , then click C C l l o o s s e e .
Adding the Printer
1. Verify that the CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System) daemon is running.
2. Open a Web browser and type http://localhost:631/admin, then click E E n n t t e e r r or R R e e t t u u r r n n .
3. For User ID, type root. For password, type the root password.
4. Click A A d d d d P P r r i i n n t t e e r r , then follow the onscreen prompts to add the printer to the CUPS printer list.
To add the printer using Bonjour
1. From the computer Applications folder or from the dock, open S S y y s s t t e e m m P P r r e e f f e e r r e e n n c c e e s s .
