Air volume adjustment
The volume of air for the air knife is controlled by
changing the speed of motor rotations, according to the
number of sheets stacked on the original table. There
are two motor speeds.
When the Start key is turned ON, the plunger pull signal
is generated, then the plunger release signal. The
recycle arm is placed on top of the stacked original and
the height of the recycle arm is detected by the recycle
arm height sensor. This determines the number of
sheets.
When about 10 to 20, or more, originals are placed on
the table, the recycle arm rises and the height sensor is
activated. (If between 10 and 20 originals are set, they
are not always detected.) This changes the motor
speed. The volume of air for the air knife is increased.
SADF paper feed
When the SADF set sensor detects the original, the
entrance gate plate is opened by the entrance gate
solenoid and the original feed motor starts turning. At
this time, as the registration gate solenoid is turned ON
simultaneously, the registration gate plate lowers.
As a result, the original is transported and hits the
registration gate plate. The original feed motor stops
when the registration sensor is activated by the leading
edge of the original.
When the Start key is pressed, the registration gate
solenoid is turned OFF and the gate is opened. The
original is fed on to the exposure glass by the transport
belt.
