2.1.8 Tray lock mechanism

When the feeler on the bottom plate of the tray goes to
its lowest position, it pushes the lock lever. The tip of
the lock lever raises so the tray can be pulled out.
When the tray bottom plate is not in its lowest position,
the lock lever prevents the tray from being pulled out.

2.1.9 Dehumidification mechanism
Humidity sensor
There are dehumidification heaters on the bottom plates
of tray 2 and 3 to prevent the paper from absorbing
moisture when in the trays. The dehumidification heaters
are designed to be turned ON automatically by the
humidity sensor on the rear of the tray 3 when humidity
reaches 62 ± 3%. These function even when power is
not supplied to the main motor.

3rd paper tray
There is no dehumidification heater for tray 1 since the
heaters for the lower two trays are effective for the upper
tray.
2.1.10 Paper dust removal mechanism
A paper dust removal roller, coated with Teflon, is on the
Paper dust removal roller
lower vertical transport unit. This roller is charged by
friction when it comes into contact with the mylar
(polyester film). Electromagnetic attraction removes the
dust from the roller surface to prevent this dust from
reaching the registration roller and other rollers.
