    The AVANT Leguan 50 Access platform is an attachment that is suitable for use with AVANT compact loaders that are shown in Table 1. The Leguan 50 is a mobile lifting platform for indoor and outdoor use and it is designed and manufactured to be an attachment for AVANT compact loaders.

    The Leguan 50 Access platform does not require a type-approval by a notified body. However, local regulations may mandate a periodic inspection of lifting equipment that is intended for lifting of persons.
  • Page 8 Risk of crushing - Never overload the platform. Overloading the platform can cause serious injury or death. The maximum permitted load for the Leguan 50 Access platform is 200 kg and the maximum allowed number of persons is 2. Do not overload the platform.

    10 (34) Risk of crushing - Never allow anyone to get under a lifted attachment or loader boom. Keep in mind that the loader boom can be lowered or tilted even if the engine has WARNING been shut down (crushing hazard). The loader is not intended to be left to keep a load elevated for longer periods.

    5. Attaching the attachment The Leguan 50 Access platform is ready to use as delivered. Couple the attachment and its hydraulic hoses to the loader as instructed in this chapter. Follow also the instructions given in the operator’s manual of the loader.

    18 (34) 5.2 Fit rear outriggers to the loader With the Leguan 50 Acces platform, an outrigger set is provided, which are to be installed to the loader. The rear outriggers increase the stability of the attachment and prevent tipping over in case of a tire burst.

    19 (34) 5.4 Fit the supporting bracket and the outriggers To set the top link the outriggers must be set first. Fit the supporting bracket between the access platform and the bracket on the loader boom after the quick coupling plate has been locked, and after the outriggers have been set.

    5.5 Connecting and disconnecting hydraulic hoses On Avant loaders the hydraulic hoses are connected using the multi connector system. If you have an older model Avant 300-700 series loader with the conventional quick couplers, and you want to change to the multi connector system, contact your Avant dealer or service point for instructions or installation services.
  • Page 21 21 (34) Keep all fittings as clean as possible; use the protective caps on both the attachment and the loader. Dirt, ice, etc. may make using the fittings significantly more difficult. Never leave the hoses hanging on the ground; place the couplings onto the holder on the attachment.

    22 (34) 6. Instructions for use Check the attachment and the operating environment once more before starting to work, and that all obstacles have been removed from the operating area. Quick inspection of the equipment and the operating area before use are parts of ensuring safety and the best performance of the equipment.

    23 (34) Risk of crushing - Ensure that the parking brake of the loader is engaged when working near the attachment. Use additional blocks if needed. Whenever possible, lower WARNING the attachment firmly on the ground. 6.2 Using the access platform Transporting the equipment with the loader: Lift the rear support legs sufficiently high for transportation.

    24 (34) 6.2.2 Lifting the platform The access platform will not rise, unless the outriggers have been set to a low position, so that the front wheels of the loader will clearly rise off the ground. The parking stand under the platform must be lifted to make it possible to press down the attachment adequately.
  • Page 25 25 (34) The access platform can be operated when enough weight is applied on the outriggers and the loader auxiliary hydraulics has been locked on with the control lever; the lever locks to its front or side position depending on the loader model.

    6.4 Ending the use of the access platform When finished working with the Leguan 50 Access platform: 1. Lower it on an even and solid surface 2. Adjust the parking stand so that the access platform will stay balanced in upright position. If needed, extra plates may be used under the outriggers.

    27 (34) 6.4.1 Storing the attachment Uncouple and store the attachment on level ground. The best way to store the attachment is a place where it is protected from direct sunlight, rain, and extreme temperatures.  Avoid leaving the attachment laying directly on the ground.

  • Page 29: Lubrication

    Finding any fault means that the hydraulic hose or component must be replaced and the equipment must not be used until it is repaired. Spare parts are available from your nearest AVANT retailer or authorised service point. Leave the repair work to professional service technicians, if you don’t have adequate knowledge and experience about hydraulic assemblies and how to perform the repairing safely.

    30 (34) 8. Warranty terms Avant Tecno Oy grants a warranty of one year (12 months) from the date of purchase for the attachment it manufactures. The warranty covers repair costs as follows:  Work costs are covered, if the repair is not performed at the factory.
