If you sell or transfer the equipment, be sure to hand over this manual to the new owner. If the manual is lost or damaged, you can request a new one from your Avant dealer or from the manufacturer.
The AVANT Leguan 50 Access platform is an attachment suitable for use with AVANT multi purpose loaders shown in Table 1. The LEGUAN 50 is a mobile lifting platform for indoor and outdoor use and it is designed and manufactured to be an attachment for AVANT compact loaders. The Leguan 50 is an access platform intended to lift persons and their equipment needed in work.
6 (32) 3. Safety instructions for using the attachment Please bear in mind that safety is the result of several factors. The loader-attachment combination is highly powerful and improper or careless use or maintenance may cause serious personal injury or property damage.

9 (32) Remember to wear proper protective clothing: The noise level at the driver's seat may exceed 85 dB(A). Wear hearing protection while working with the loader. Wear protective gloves. Wear safety boots whenever working with the loader. Wear safety glasses when handling hydraulic components. Safe stopping of the attachment, before going near the attachment: Always stop the attachment following safe stopping procedure before leaving the driver's seat.

5. Attaching the attachment The Leguan 50 Access platform is ready to use as delivered. Couple the attachment and its hydraulic hoses to the loader as instructed in this chapter. Follow also the instructions given in the operator’s manual of the loader.
Lower the attachment on the ground and secure the locking manually. 5.1.1 Fit rear outriggers to the loader With the LEGUAN 50, an outrigger set is provided, which are to be installed to the loader. The rear outriggers increase the stability of the equipment and prevent tipping over in case of a tire burst.
17 (32) 5.1.2 Lift parking support Lift the loader slightly off the ground and lift the parking stand under the platform to its upper position. Under the platform there is a parking stand, which must be lifted before transporting or using the equipment.
On the 200 series 2 and 400-700 series loaders the hydraulic hoses are connected using the multi connector system. If you have an Avant 300-700 series loader with the conventional quick couplers and wish to change to the multi connector system, contact your Avant dealer or service point for instructions or installation services.

19 (32) Keep all fittings as clean as possible; use the protective caps on both the attachment and the loader. Dirt, ice, etc. may make using the fittings significantly more difficult. Never leave the hoses hanging on the ground; place the couplings onto the holder on the attachment.
Page 20
20 (32) Releasing residual hydraulic pressure: In case residual pressure is left in the hydraulic system of the attachment, it is often possible to disconnect the hydraulic couplings, but it may be difficult to connect them the next time. If the fittings will not connect, the residual pressure must be released by turning the auxiliary hydraulics control lever of the loader, when the engine is turned off.
21 (32) 6. Instructions for use Check the attachment and the operating environment once more before starting to work, and that all obstacles have been removed from the operating area. Quick inspection of the equipment and the operating area before use are parts of ensuring safety and the best performance of the equipment.
22 (32) Avoid hazard of crushing by ensuring that the parking brake of the loader is engaged when working near the attachment. Use additional blocks if needed. Whenever possible, lower the attachment on the ground. 6.2 Using the access platform Transporting the equipment with the loader: Lift the rear support legs sufficiently high for transportation.
23 (32) 6.2.2 Lifting the platform The access platform will not rise, unless the outriggers have been set to a low position, so that the front wheels of the loader will clearly rise off the ground. The parking stand under the platform must be lifted to make it possible to press down the attachment adequately.
24 (32) Safe working load for the platform is 200 kg, including the operator and tools, and this must not be exceeded. Crushing hazard - The access platform and the loader boom can move even if the loader engine is not running. Make sure it is safe to operate the platform. 6.3 Emergency lowering of the platform An emergency lowering valve is located at the working platform, with which the platform can be lowered in case the loader shuts down, for example.
6.4 Ending the use of the access platform When finished working with the LEGUAN 50, lower it on an even and solid surface, and adjust the parking stand so that the access platform will stay balanced in upright position. If needed, extra plates may be used under the outriggers.
Other than daily inspections and maintenance, more demanding service and repairing must be left for qualified AVANT service professionals. The nearest service can be found by contacting your local AVANT dealer. Use only original spare parts. ...
Finding any fault means that the hydraulic hose or component must be replaced and the equipment must not be used until it is repaired. Spare parts are available from your nearest AVANT retailer or authorised service point. Leave the repair work to professional service technicians, if you don’t have adequate knowledge and experience about hydraulic assemblies and how to perform the repairing safely.
28 (32) 8. Warranty terms Avant Tecno Oy grants a warranty of one year (12 months) from the date of purchase for the attachment it manufactures. The warranty covers repair costs as follows: Work costs are covered, if the repair is not performed at the factory.
