4.4 Loading of the products

For rapid, uniform and perfect mixture of the produce,
follow these directions:
1. keep the machine Fig. 40 on horizontal plane in the
phases of cutting and mixing;
2. insert the produce in the following order:
a) gradually insert dry, fibrous produce, hay or straw,
and carry out a pre-cutting of the produce of 10-15
cm;
b) insert mealy products such as concentrates, vitamins
and various types of flour;
c) gradually add ensiled produce, i.e. grass, maize.
Insert loose products in the central part of
the loading tank.
If baled fibrous products of higher than
average strength must be chopped (hays
with particularly long and resistant fibre),
we recommend loading the concentrates
first and then the flours in order to make
the action of the worm screw less
aggressive in the central area.
After the last loading, let the product turn in the machine
for about 10 minutes, in order to obtain a perfect mix.
It is always necessary to leave about 10%of the load
volume empty, to allow the products to turn and mix
perfectly (Fig. 40).
An overloaded Cutting-Mixing-Distributing
Wagon leads to notable absorption of power,
difficulty in cutting up, longer mixing times
and

chance of breakage.
never load the wagon in the evening to
distribute the products the morning after.
If there is a break longer than a few days, it is
a good rule to wash the inside of the mixing
tank with a jet of water, after having
unscrewed the drain plugs situated on the
lower part of the tank itself.

4.4.1 Manual feeding

The wagon can be fed both from the top, manually (see
Fig. 41). If the wagon is fed from above, remember that it
is dangerous to do this from a position higher than the
