MP3 Playback

This player can play back the MP3-data
which has been recorded on CD-R or CD-
RW. To produce the MP3-data, you need a
Windows-PC with CD-ROM drive and a MP3-
encoding Software (not supplied).
The Apple-HFS-System can not be played.

Limitations on MP3 CD playback
• M P 3 C D is the disc tha t is sta nda rdize d by
IS O 9 6 60 , its file na m e m ust include 3 -digits
e xte nsion le tte rs, "m p3 ".
• T he dire ctory a nd file na m e s of the M P 3
C D m ust be corre spond to the IS O
sta nda rdize d file s.
• T his unit ca n re a d 2 0 0 file s pe r disc. If
one dire ctory ha s m ore tha n 2 0 0 file s, it
re a ds up to 2 0 0 file s, the re m a ining file s will
be om itte d.
• As for m ulti-se ssion disc, only the first
se ssion ca n be pla ye d.
• If the C D ha s both a udio tra cks a nd M P 3
file s, only a udio tra cks a re pla ye d.
• It m a y ta ke m ore tha n one m inute for this
unit to re a d M P 3 file s de pe nding on its
structure .
• M usic re corde d by "Jolie t R e cording
S pe cifica tion" ca n be pla ye d ba ck, the file
na m e is displa ye d (within 1 7 le tte rs) on the
scre e n Long file na m e s will be conde nse d.
• T he m usic file s re corde d by "H ie ra rchica l
F ile S yste m " (H F S ) ca nnot be pla ye d.
Limitations on display

Notes on MP3 files
To play ba ck M P 3 C D in the re corde d orde r,
1. U se M P 3 softwa re tha t re cords da ta
a lpha be tica lly or num e rica lly.
2. N a m e e a ch file including two-digit or thre e -
digit num be r (e .g. "0 1 " "0 2 " or "0 0 1 " "0 0 2 ").
3. R e fra in from m a king too m a ny sub-folde rs.

Preparation:
T urn O N the T V and set it to the video input m ode .
M ake sure TV/VCR/DVD switch has been slided to V C R /
D V D . T hen pre ss DVD to select the D V D m ode. (T he D V D
indicator will light)

P ress OPEN/CLOSE.
T he disc tray will open.
P lace a disc onto the tray.

P re ss PLAY or OPEN/CLOSE.
T he disc tray closes automatically.
O n the T V-screen, "R eading" and
th e n re a d in g file n u m b e r w ill
appear. R eading will take as much
tim e as the num ber of file.

P ress STOP to end playback.
• T he unit records the stopped point. " " appears on the
screen. P ress PLAY to resum e playback (from the scene
point).
• If you press STOP again or unload the disc, the unit will
clear the stopped point.

T hen press OPEN/CLOSE.
T he disc tray opens.
R em ove the disc and press POWER.
T he disc tray closes autom atically and D V D /V C R turns off.
Note:
D uring M P 3-P layback, you can not use S E AR C H , A-B
R epeat functions.
Y ou can use R epea t(T rack or All) and R andom functions for
M P 3 C D P layback.(S ee page 40 and 41)
