Basic connections

If you are using an antenna system, follow these instructions. If you are a cable (CATV) subscriber,skip
ahead to page 14 for the proper connections.
ANTENNA TO DVD/VCR CONNECTION
T he DV D /V C R must be conne cte d "be twe e n" the antenna and the T V. F irst, disconne ct the ante nna from the T V
and connect it to the DV D /V C R . T hen connect the DV D /V C R to the T V. Below are 3 com m on m ethods of connecting
a n a nte nna syste m to a D V D /V C R . F ind the type of antenna system you are using and follow the connection
dia gra m .
Combination VHF/UHF Antenna with 75 ohm Coaxial Cable

Combination VHF/UHF Antenna with 300 ohm Twin Lead (Flat) Wire

Separate VHF and UHF Antennas

NOTE:
If both V H F a nd U H F a nte nna s ha ve 300 ohm twin lead (flat) wires, use a com biner having two 300
ohm inputs a nd one 7 5 ohm output.
NOTES: • A cle a r picture will not be obta ine d by the D V D /V C R unless the antenna signal is good. C onnect the
a ntenna to the DV D /V C R prope rly.
• For be tte r qua lity re cording, a n indoor antenna or a telescopic antenna is not recom m ended. T he use of
a n outdoor type a nte nna is re quire d.
• If you a re not sure a bout the conne ction, please refe r to qualified service personnel.
