Installing the solar monitor
7.1
Installation location
When selecting an installation location, consider the following:
• The mounting surface must be even and sufficiently hard.
• The device must be installed in a location that is protected from moisture and dust.
7.2
Connecting the solar monitor

NOTE
Use the connection cable extension (accessory) if the length of the connection cable is
not sufficient.
➤ Connect the connection cable (fig. 3 1, page 3) to the solar monitor and to the solar charger.
7.3
Connecting the solar monitor to consumers (optional)

Observe the recommended cable cross-section of > 0.75 mm².

NOTE
The "Out" terminal is protected against over load by a self-resetting 0.5 A fuse.
1. Connect the "+Batt" terminal to a supply voltage of 12 V/ 24 V, e.g. house battery (fig. 3 2,
page 3).
2. Protect the "+Batt" terminal with a 1 A fuse (fig. 3 2, page 3).
3. Connect the "Out" terminal to the consumer (fig. 3 4, page 3).
4. Optionally connect a transfer relay (fig. 3 5, page 3) to amplify the switching output.
5. Activate the switching output (chapter "Activating or deactivating the switching output manu-
ally" on page 18).

Mounting the solar monitor

NOTICE! Damage hazard
Before cutting and drilling any holes, ensure that no electrical cables or other parts of
the vehicle can be damaged by drilling, sawing or filing.
1. Use the drilling template to cut a recess of 71 x 66 mm into the wall with a minimum depth of
21 mm.
2. Cover the back of the solar monitor with a non-conductive material (e.g. plastic film or wood
panel) to protect the electronics.
3. Insert the back of the solar monitor into the recess and screw the front panel of the solar moni-
tor to the wall using the mounting screws.
