Installing the Processor

This motherboard has a Socket 462 processor socket. When
choosing a processor, consider the performance requirements of
the system. Performance is based on the processor design, the
clock speed and system bus frequency of the processor, and the
quantity of internal cache memory and external cache memory.
CPU Installation Procedure
The following illustration shows CPU installation components:

Orient the CPU so the odd corner matches the odd corner of the
socket. With the lever in an upright position, gently place the CPU
on the socket; make sure that all pins line up with the socket holes.
When pins are aligned, the CPU should seat itself in the socket.
Apply very light pressure to ensure the CPU is evenly seated. Push
the lever down and ensure it latches firmly.
Note: Remember to apply thermal grease on top of the CPU.
Connect the CPU Cooling Fan power cable connector to the
CPUFAN connector.
