Requirements

Source Device

The following equipment must be installed on the device or computer that acts as the source of HDMI content:

• HDMI Type A output connector(s)

Display Device

• A display device or receiver with an HDMI Type A input connector for each output port you will be installing

Cables

• HDMI cable for the source device
• HDMI cables for each output port you will be installing

Notes:

1. A DVI/HDMI adapter is required when connecting to a DVI source or display device.
2. If a DVI/HDMI adapted is used, audio is not supported.
3. We recommend using high-quality cables when cascading HDMI splitters to maintain a strong signal.

Hardware Installation

Single Stage Installation

Refer to the installation diagram and do the following:

1. Use a Male-to-Male Type A HDMI cable to connect your computer or HDMI source device to the VS0108H's HDMI Input port.
2. Use up to eight Male-to-Male Type A HDMI cables to connect up to eight HDMI display devices to the VS0108H's Output ports.
3. Plug the power adapter that came with the VS0108H package into an AC power source, the plug the power adapter cable into the splitter's Power Jack.

Note: The VS0108H will automatically detect the lowest resolution of any monitor in the installation.

Cascading

To provide even more HDMI displays, additional units can be cascaded from the VS0108H's Output ports. Simply use additional Male-to-Male Type A HDMI cables to connect an Output port on the parent splitter to the Input port on the child splitter.

Recommended distances between devices in all cascade levels for transmitting a high resolution signal are as follows:

Source to VS0108H - 1.8 m
VS0108H to VS0108H - 15m
VS0108H to display - 20 m

HDCP Limitation in Cascade

If your HDMI content is HDCP-enabled, the VS0108H will only support the number of displays that there are HDCP keys available (127 displays). If your HDMI content is not HDCP-enabled, the VS0108H supports a full three-level cascade (512 displays).
