Understanding the ADF and scanner glass Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Use the ADF for multiple-page documents. You can use the ADF or the scanner glass to scan documents. Sending a fax using the computer Faxing from a computer lets you send electronic documents without leaving your desk. This gives you the flexibility of faxing documents directly from software programs.
