Purpose

This document outlines the removal and replacement of the Thule 5200 Awning motor.

This document provides general instructions. Many variables can change the circumstances of any procedure,
i.e. the degree of difficulty involved in the service operation and the ability level of the individual performing

technician should be consulted before performing the necessary operation. Failure to correctly install, remove
or service the system may result in voiding the warranty, inflicting injury or even death.

Resources Required

• Ladder
• Star screwdriver (various sizes)

Procedure

1.
Extend the awning 12" - 18 " inches (Fig. 1).
2.
Secure the arms on both sides of the awning with adjustable straps (Fig. 2A) to keep the awning from
opening. Secure the straps with duct tape to keep the straps from sliding along the arms.
