Note: The MX3 and the MX3-CE are obsolete. The MX3 and MX3-CE use the following batters: MX3A378BATT (LXE part no. 158224-0001) or 2381A376BATT1600 (LXE part no. 156213-0001). The MX3 and MX3-CE batteries can be charged in the MX3 Multi-Charger Plus. When using the MX3A378BATT battery, it is necessary to verify the firmware version (as described in the MX3X section preceding) to ensure the battery is fully charged.

Connectors Controls LXE Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery Packs The 156213-0001 and 158224-0001 battery pack components are illustrated below. Service There are no user serviceable parts in the LXE 156213-0001, 158224-0001 or 159922-0001 Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery Pack or the Multi-Charger Plus. Should your charger require service, contact LXE. Please refer to “Getting Help” later in this guide.
Setup • Ensure that the location you choose for the charger/analyzer is well ventilated. • Place the charger/analyzer on a horizontal, hard surface. • Plug the power cord into a properly grounded outlet. • On initial power-up, all 5 pocket LEDs will light yellow for a few seconds. LED Indicator When a battery pack is inserted into the charger/analyzer pocket, press the analyze dome switch within 15 seconds to start the battery pack analysis.
Using the Charge Pockets There are four charging pockets on the Multi-Charger Plus. The Multi-Charger Plus charges each battery pack in less than four hours. Placing the Battery Pack into the Multi-Charger Plus Orienting the Battery Pack It is important that battery pack is inserted into the charging pocket correctly. Caution! Inserting the battery incorrectly could result in damage to the battery pack or the charger/analyzer.
the Charge/Analyze Pocket Using Using the Charge/Analyze Pocket The charge/analyze pocket can be used to: • Charge a battery pack in less than four hours. • Analyze a battery pack, ending with the battery pack fully charged, in less than ten hours.
Analyze Dome Switch Press the Analyze dome switch within 15 seconds of inserting the battery to start the analysis process. If the dome switch is not pressed, the battery will be charged, but not analyzed. When the switch has been pressed, the LCD will display “ANALYZE” plus an indication of the progress of the analyze process.
Monitors Progress Progress Monitors The Multi-Charger Plus indicates the status of a battery pack with an LED located below each pocket. In addition, the charge/analyze pocket has an LCD screen providing additional information on the battery in that pocket. Interpreting the LEDs Each pocket on the Multi-Charger Plus has an LED.
Interpreting the LCD Screen The charge/analyze pocket utilizes an LCD screen to display the status of the charge or analyze operation. The LCD screen is located to the right of the charge/analyze pocket. Additional information may be displayed including voltage, capacity and battery fault information, as appropriate.
Monitors Progress Analyze – Initial Charge When a battery is in the charge/analyze pocket and the analyze dome switch has been pressed within 15 seconds of inserting the battery, the analyze process is started.
