8.1 INTRODUCTION

The following information has been compiled from
operational experience with your package. It identi-
fies symptoms and describes probable causes for
problems.
The collection of operational data concerning possi-
ble trouble should be analyzed to prevent complete
compressor breakdown. An example of this would
be the vibrations signature increase of a damaged
bearing or the efficiency decrease of a dirty heat
exchanger.
8.2 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

A detailed visual inspection should be performed for
all problems. Always remember to:
1. Check for loose wiring.
2. Check for damaged piping.
3. Check for parts damaged by heat or an electrical
short circuit, usually apparent by discoloration or a
burnt odor.

commended check, consult your nearest Sullair
representative or the Sullair Corporation.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Lost Data Link From Engine
Low Fuel
Bad Fuel Sender
Engine Problem May Have Developed
Temperature RTD Failure
RTD Transmitter Failure
Pressure Transducer Failure
Emergency Switch Open (Depressed)
Lost Data Link From Engine
Diode Installed in Reverse
Short Circuit
Low Fuel
The Machine Ran at a Final Discharge
Pressure Below 50 psig (3.4 barg) for Ten
Minutes
Oil Pressure Falls Below 30 psig (2.1
barg) While Package is Running Because:
Oil Pump Malfunctioned
Oil Filter Dirty
Oil Temperature Too Low
Sump Oil Heater Malfunctions
Sump Oil Level Too Low

TROUBLESHOOTING

REMEDY
Consult Sullair Service
Department.
Check fuel level and add if necessary.
Replace fuel sender.
Observe flashing code and refer to
and the Engine Operator's Manual.
Check connections from RTD. If adequate, re-
place RTD.
Verify transmitter output is 4-20 MA.
Check connections from transducer. If ade-
quate, replace transducer.
Close switch (pull).
Consult Sullair Service
Department.
Install properly.
Check and reset if necessary.
Check and add if necessary.
Adjust valve downstream of package to hold
minimum 70 psig (4.8 barg) line pressure.
Consult Sullair Service
Department.
Replace filter element.
Check state of thermal valve feeding oil cooler.
Replace heater.
Replenish oil level.
