Connection of the pump to the pellet fireplace
Wire the enclosed 3-pole connector to the pump with L-PE-N (cable
type: H05VV-F 3 x 0.75 mm²) and plug it into the socket.

Connection of the buffer sensor to the pellet fireplace
Note! Mixing up the buffer sensors!
In order to prevent the top and bottom buffer sensors from
getting mixed up, the enclosed connectors are coded, i.e. the
connectors only fit into the corresponding socket. You can
recognise the same coding by the same colour (pastel blue and
light blue). Install the enclosed top and bottom buffer sensors
on the buffer.
We reserve the right to make technical changes
Attention! Product damage owing to malfunctions!
Swapping the sensors on the buffer results in malfunctions.
● Lay the buffer sensor cable to the pellet fireplace, the buffer
sensor cable can be extended by max. 15 m if necessary (ca-
ble type: H05VV-F 2 x 0.75 mm² to 2 x 1.5 mm²).

● Wire the top buffer sensor with the pastel blue connector
appropriately for the socket and plug it into the socket.
● Wire the bottom buffer sensor with the light blue connector
appropriately for the socket and plug it into the socket.
General regulated function
In principle, heating operation of the LEVANA AQUA is regulated
using the "Manual" or "Automatic" operating mode (see "Menu selec-
tion" chapter). I.e., in manual mode the pellet fireplace heats at
the selected output stage (1-5) until the control temperatures are
reached on the water side.
Note! In automatic mode, the pellet fireplace heats until either
4
the room temperature selected or the water-side control
temperatures are reached.
Water-side control function – operation with buffer
In Germany, operation without a buffer is prohibited by the 1st
BImSchV (Federal Emission Control Act). For pellet fireplaces, 20 l of
buffer volume must be available per kW of water output.
Note! Olsberg also recommends the installation of a buffer in
all other distribution countries.
The buffer installed is automatically detected by the pellet fireplace
when it is switched on through querying of the two buffer sensors.
Always install both buffer sensors for operation with a buffer!
During operation with the buffer, the pellet fireplace regulates
according to the "Buffer ON" and "Buffer OFF" temperatures values,
which can be set individually. The pump only switches on if both of
the following conditions are met:
ū The boiler temperature (water temperature in the pellet fireplace)
must be greater than 60 °C.
ū The boiler temperature must be 5 °C greater than the defined
"Buffer ON" temperature.
The pump switches off if one of the following conditions is met:
ū The boiler temperature must be less than 55 °C.
ū The boiler temperature must be less than the defined "Buffer ON"
temperature plus 5 °C.
Note regarding operation without a buffer (not permitted
in Germany)!
In the event of operation without a buffer, the pellet fireplace regu-
lates according to the boiler temperature, which is measures in the
pellet fireplace above the combustion chamber. If the temperature
falls below the boiler temperature of 65 °C, then "Heating operation"
is enabled, and if the temperature falls below 81 °C, then the pellet
fireplace switches to "Burnout". The pump switches on at a boiler
temperature of 60 °C and switches off again if the temperature falls
below 55 °C.
