• There is no DV input or the input signal is unre-
cordable.
• Cannot preview because there is no DV input
or the input signal is unrecordable.
• This channel's TV system is different from the
system's setting.
• Recording failed due to a TV system mismatch.
Press DISPLAY to clear message.
• Playback has stopped because the TV system is
different than the recording.
Front panel display error messages
Message
Description
Child Lock
• This message appears when the front panel buttons are pressed when the child lock feature is
active. See Child lock setting on page 121 for more on switching on/off the child lock.
A. Out Fix
• Blinks rapidly for 2 seconds when an operation is prohibited because the analog out mode is set
to A. Out Fix (see Analog out mode on page 118).
Phones In
• Blinks rapidly for 2 seconds when an operation is prohibited because headphones are
connected.
96k Stereo
• Blinks rapidly for 2 seconds when an operation is prohibited because the source is digital 88.2 or
96kHz PCM.
Muting
• Blinks rapidly for 2 seconds when an operation is prohibited because the sound is muted (press
the MUTE button to turn the sound on).
Exit
• Appears briefly when a menu is automatically exited after a set period of inactivity.
Recording
• Blinks rapidly for 2 seconds when a button is pressed for an operation that can't be done while
recording.
Can't use
• Blinks rapidly for 2 seconds when a button is pressed for an operation that can only be done
when the input function is set to HDD/DVD.
Cable Check
• Appears if the subwoofer is not connected to the main system unit, or if the subwoofer is not
switched on.
S.W Error
• Blinks rapidly for 2 seconds if a serious problem with the subwoofer unit is detected. In this case,
unplug the subwoofer unit from the power supply, leave for at least a minute, then plug back in.
Explanation/Action
No signal was detected at the DV input/output jack. This may
appear if a blank section of DV tape is playing in the connected
camcorder.
The TV system (PAL, NTSC, etc.) of the current channel is different
from the TV system settings of this system.
The timer recording failed because the TV system of the channel
set for recording was different from the setting of the system.
During recording or timer recording standby, the TV System (PAL,
NTSC, etc.) of the playback video changed, causing playback to
stop automatically.
