System Administrator Tasks

The System Administrator has access to menus and files which are not available
to other system users. The System Administrator, or "superuser," should be a high-
level individual familiar with the UNIX operating system. Because the superuser
has access to functions barred to most users, ADE recommends that one
high-level individual should perform all System Administrator functions.
System Administrator tasks include the following:
1. Using the Software Manager
2. Performing routine backups of the hard disk drive and determining hard disk
usage
3. Setting system time and date
4. Creating user accounts and changing passwords
5. Deleting log file messages
6. Creating a print queue
System Administrator tasks can be performed using applications inside the System
