2. Checking the Filesystem (if necessary)
If the screen displays the message "root filesystem needs checking", your operating
system may contain some damaged files (probably caused by an improper system
shutdown). You will be prompted:

If you type "y"
(filesystem check) will be issued, launching the "fsck" utility.
The "fsck" command examines the various structures on the disk and attempts to
reconcile them. When this command is issued, you will see the following messages
as each phase of filechecking is completed:

3. Recognizing the system hardware
At boot time, a table of hardware information is always displayed. The table
represents your hardware configuration as recognized by the operating system.
4. Checking security databases
Next, the system automatically checks security databases to determine access
privileges for your system. Messages like the ones below are displayed:

If critical database files are missing or corrupted, the system automatically issues
the "fsck" command to perform a check of the entire filesystem.
