1 Product Overview

1.1. Product Introduction

Liebert® AHU system is an ideal cooling unit for cooling the cloud. AHU caters to several ecosystems such as data center
and IT rooms wherein optimum cooling is required along with a high degree of reliability and variability.
With Cloud computing on the rise along with the advent of virtualization, data centers host around 100 up to 1000 IT racks.
Moreover, due to ever-increasing demand, the deployment of new technologies with high power densities has a massive
impact on the power and cooling systems that business-critical servers and communication devices depend on for their
performance and reliability. Nowadays, high scalability is the need of the hour to support rapid growth in a dynamic and
virtualized environment.
Users can leverage the benefit of communication between multiple AHU units (all in the vicinity) in a synchronized manner,
thereby enabling higher reliability and precision cooling room control. With an easy-to-use graphic interface, it allows access
to the unit via a network (using an integrated Ethernet connection) and makes centralized monitoring and control possible.
Advanced remote monitoring and control software, it helps prevent possible alarm conditions and allows proactive
maintenance and early detection of bottlenecks. With periodic reporting, the data collected can be analyzed to gain insight
into trends and unit functioning, thereby enabling better control and corrective action in the entire process flow.

delivering high availability and close control of the environment, providing the boost for maintaining these ambient
requirements.

1.2. Model Description

This chapter introduces the model, appearance, components, and optional configuration requirements of AHU. AHU is a
cooling equipment, a medium-large sized precision environment control system, adapted to the environment control of the
equipment room or computer room, featuring high reliability, high sensible heat ratio, and large airflow. The appearance of
the AHU model is shown in
Figure
1-1.
