Unlocking the Viewport

Once the viewport is locked, you must unlock it before you can use the keys to
move the viewport window, or to send commands to move it. Set the following
registers and call INT 10h to unlock the viewport:
On entry:

Fonts, Rows, and Columns

When you change the font size, the number of rows and columns that can appear
in the viewport is automatically changed. When the number of rows and
columns is changed, the appropriate font size is automatically changed to match
the rows and columns.

Changing Font Sizes

Using the Set Physical Display Size API, provides a means of changing the font
size. This is done by setting the following registers, then calling INT 10h:

Once this is done, the system is in NORAND CGA video mode 43h, in which only
TTY read/writes through DOS or BIOS is permitted. Writing directly to video
memory does not work correctly.

Standard Display

This display (formerly the Wide Display) is a monochrome LCD with 160 pixels
in width and 128 pixels in length. The character size is changeable by
parameter menus. The default size for this display is 20 columns by 16 rows.
Other available sizes are as follows:
Rows:
Columns: 10, 13, 16, 20, 26, 32
Any of these combinations of rows and columns are available, using the LCD
Parms menu.

Display Used on Older Units

This display (formerly the Standard Display) has been discontinued. The description is
included here for the benefit of those who may still be using the display described in this
paragraph. Refer to the Standard Display (formerly the Wide Display) for details of the
display currently being used.
This display is a monochrome LCD with 160 pixels in width and 144 pixels in
length. The character size is changeable by parameter menus. The standard
size is 20 columns and 18 rows. Other available sizes are as follows:

Columns: 10, 13, 16, 20, 26, 32
