clamp fitting. The material of the back plate has to be strong enough for the
reinforced clamp fitting.
1) Mark four mounting points on the wheelchair back support using the
bores in the corners of the clamp fitting (see fig. 11).
2) Drill four holes (diameter: 5.5 mm) in the wheelchair back support using
a power drill.
3) Attach the clamp fitting to the wheelchair back support using appropriate
screws (M5, minimum strength class 8.8) and generously dimensioned
spacer washers.
6.1.2 Installing the vertical tube
Use the clamp plate (see fig. 2, see fig. 1, see fig. 3, item 5) to mark the
point where the vertical tube is held by the clamp fitting. If the vertical tube is
briefly removed, this allows it to be positioned at the same height without
having to adjust it again.
1) Slide the clamp plate onto the vertical tube.
2) Slightly tighten the Allen head screw so the clamp plate can still slide
(see fig. 13, item 1).
3) Slide the vertical tube into the clamp fitting from above and set it to the
desired height.
4) Tighten the clamping lever on the clamp fitting (see fig. 14, item 2).
5) Slide the clamp plate onto the clamp fitting from above. The head of the
Allen head screw has to face to the rear (see fig. 14, item 1).
6) Tighten the Allen head screw on the clamp plate.
6.1.3 Installing the head support
1) Insert the ball joint head (see fig. 15, item 1) of the head support mount
ing kit with the shaped plate (see fig. 15, item 2) on the adapter of the
head support.
2) Align the shaped plate so the bores on the adapter are not covered (see
fig. 15).
3) Insert and tighten the Allen head screws to 5 Nm (see fig. 16, item 1).
