8.2 Taking
PAUL
®
If
PAUL
has to be taken out of operation for a long time, e.g. for weeks or
months, the following is recommended.
Flush
PAUL
water comes out of the bottom or side outlet.
®
Fill
PAUL
with at least 50 Liter of clean water (the membrane module
must be immersed).
Use a chlorine concentration in this water at about 1 mg/Liter (1 ppm) ac-
tive chlorine. Example: If
tive chlorine = 0.05 g active chlorine. See chapter 8.1 for further instruc-
tions.
The membrane can stand a chlorine load of 500,000 mg/(L*h). This means, that
with a concentration of 1 mg/L, the maximum time to expose the module to this
conditions (soaking time) is 500,000 hours (which is close to 60 years!), so
there will be no chlorine introduced damage to the membrane material.
