1 4 ) LEVEL Controls and SLOPE Switches
Trigger point of waveform is adjusted with the L E V E L
controls and S L O P E s w i t c h e s . Fig. 11 s h o w s the set-
ting relationship between the L E V E L and SLOPE for trig-
ger point adjustment. Level of the trigger point shall be
adjusted as necessity requires.

(5) FIX Switch
Selecting F I X of the T R I G MODE s w i t c h e s @ enables
waveform to be triggered close to its center, eliminat-
ing troublesome trigger level adjustment.
If the trigger level is set on one side of the signal with
NORM of the T R I G MODE s w i t c h e s @ selected as
s h o w n in (a) or (b), Fig. 1 2 , lowering of the input sig-
nal causes displacement of the trigger point, resulting
in immediate stoppage of s w e e p operation.
If FIX of the T R I G MODE s w i t c h e s © is selected, the
trigger level is a l w a y s set close to the waveform center
automatically even though amplitude changes (Fig.
11 -(c)), resulting in stable triggering, regardless of set-
ting of the L E V E L controls (§), @ . Besides, abrupt
changing the input signal from square w a v e into pulse
w a v e usually c a u s e s the trigger point to shift to the
negative ( - ) side of the w a v e extremely, unless the trig-
ger level is re-adjusted as s h o w n in (2) and ( 3 ) , Fig.
13-(a). Consequently, if input signal changes into pulse
w a v e under the condition where the trigger point has
been set on the negative side of the square w a v e as
s h o w n in ( 1 ) , Fig. 13-b, s w e e p may stop due to dis-
placement of the trigger point. To avoid such a trou-
ble, set the T R I G MODE © to F I X ; signals are a l w a y s
triggered close to the w a v e center, enabling stable
waveform observation (Fig. 13-(c)).
