of channel-1 and channel-2 signals is

C H O P / A L T
: Pressing the s w i t c h turns on the LED
and selects chopping operation, which
displays channels alternately at approx.
5 0 0 kHz in the multi-trace mode. Chop-
ping is suitable for observation of slow
s w e e p time.
Another press of the switch turns off the
LED and selects A L T operation, which
displays channels alternately in the multi-
trace mode every time the trigger signal
is input. A L T operation is suitable for ob-
servation of fast sweep time.
N O T E : Chopping is not activated in the
single-trace mode. If multi-trace
chopping operation is changed
into the single-trace operation,
the CHOP LED goes out.

C H 2 INV

and inverts polarity of the channel-2

C H I VARIABLE Control
Fine adjustment of the channel-1 axis vertical attenua-
tion for continuous variation between ranges selected
with the V O L T / D I V control. Full clockwise rotation to
the C A L position calibrates the attenuator. Also serves
as a fine adjustment of the Y - a x i s attenuation in the X -
Y operation.

CH1 VOLTS/DIV Control
Channel-1 vertical axis attenuator for setting vertical
axis sensitivity from 1 mV/div. to 5 V/div. in 1-2-5 s e -
quence (from 10 mV/div. to 5 0 V/div. if the probe PC-31
compatible with the readout function is used). Setting
the C H 1 V A R I A B L E control © to the C A L position pro-
vides calibrated vertical axis sensitivity. Also serves as
an attenuator of the Y - a x i s in the X - Y operation. For
the vertical axis sensitivity, confirm the R E A D O U T dis-
play on the C R T .

t POSITION Control
Adjusts vertical position of channel-1 waveform dis-
played on the C R T . Also used to adjust the Y - a x i s po-
sition in the X - Y operation.

CH1 A C - D C Switch
Selects coupling of the channel-1 vertical axis input sig-
nal. Also serves as the Y - a x i s input selector in the X - Y
operation. Pressing the s w i t c h turns on the LED and
eliminates DC component from the input signal to make
A C input available ( A C coupling). Another press of the
switch turns off the L E D and make DC input available
(DC coupling), enabling signals with D C components
to be observed.
NOTE: If the GND s w i t c h L E D © is on, input signal is
isolated from the vertical amplifier, and the ver-
tical amplifier input is grounded.

CH1 GND Switch
Pressing the s w i t c h turns on the L E D , isolates the
channel-1 input signal from the vertical amplifier, and
grounds the vertical amplifier input. By this, the ground
voltage can be c h e c k e d . Another press of the s w i t c h
turns off the L E D and supplies the channel-1 input sig-
nal to the vertical amplifier.

CH2 VARIABLE Control
Fine adjustment of the channel-2 vertical axis attenua-
tion. Provides the same function as the CH1 V A R I A B L E
control © . Also serves as a fine attenuation adjustment
of the X-axis and Y-axis in the X - Y operation.

Channel-2 vertical axis attenuator. Provides the same
function as the C H 1 V O L T S / D I V control ® . Also serves
as an attenuator of the X - a x i s and Y - a x i s in the X - Y
operation.

CH2 T POSITION Control
Adjusts vertical position of channel-2 waveform dis-
played on the C R T . Also used to adjust the Y - a x i s po-
sition in the X - Y operation.
NOTE: In the X - Y operation, position of the X - a x i s is
adjusted with the -< •

Selects coupling of the channel-2 vertical input signal.
Also serves as the input selector of the X - a x i s and Y -
axis in the X - Y operation. Provides the same function
as the C H 1 A C - D C s w i t c h © .

Pressing the s w i t c h turns on the L E D , isolates the
channei-2 input signal from the vertical amplifier, and
grounds the vertical amplifier input. By this, the ground
voltage can be c h e c k e d . Another press of the s w i t c h
turns off the L E D and supplies the channel-2 input sig-
nal to the vertical amplifier.

CH3 0.5 V / 0 . 1 V Switch
Pressing the s w i t c h turns on the L E D and sets the ver-
tical axis sensitivity to 0 . 5 V/div. Another press of the
switch turns off the L E D and s e t s the vertical axis sen-
sitivity to 0.1 V/div. Also serves a s the Y - a x i s attenu-
ator in the X - Y operation.
