(10) Adjusting the thread hook

WARNING :
As the work is performed while the power is ON, never touch the switches other than the necessary
one so as to prevent accidents caused by the malfunction of switches.

Loosen setscrews ❶ .
1.
Shift the air cylinder base (general asm.) ❷ in direction A. Temporarily tighten setscrews ❶ .
2.
* When sliding the air cylinder base (general asm.) ❷ in the direction A, the thread hook ❻ moves to
the direction C.
When sliding the air cylinder base (general asm.) ❷ in the direction B, the thread hook ❻ moves to
the direction D.
In this state, fix the switch ❸ of topmost solenoid valve with the ON state.
3.
Turn the handwheel to align the tip of left needle ❹ with the center of looper ❺ .
4.
Temporarily tighten setscrews ❼ and ❽ . Adjust the clearance provided between the left needle ❹
5.
and the thread hook ❻ to 0 to 0.05 mm when the left needle ❹ and the top end of thread hook ❻ are
aligned in lateral direction. Then, tighten setscrew ❼ and setscrew ❽ in the written order.
* If setscrew ❽ is tightened first, the thread hook ❻ will be likely to turn clockwise, making the correct
positioning of the thread hook difficult.
(Caution) Carry out adjustment with thread hook ❻ shifted to the right by its backlash.
