    Safety Information Work Area • Make sure you thoroughly inspect the entire work area and remove all objects and anything that could be thrown by the machine or could damage the engine or machine (branches, stones, wire, toys, etc). Attempting to clear the work area whilst using the machine will reduce your concentration and creates a trip hazard.

These vibrations can lead to white finger (Raynaud’s phenomenon) or carpal tunnel syndrome.     Intended Use The HYM560SPE is a petrol powered, self-propelled, electric push button start lawnmower from HYUNDAI, ideally suited for large sized lawns. The HYM560SPE has a cutting width of 555mm and is powered by a 196cc 4-stroke OHV petrol engine.

    Preparation Adding Oil Oil Type : SAE 30 or 15w40 Engine Oil Oil Capacity : 600ml NOTE - The machine is delivered without oil in the engine. All machines are tested and inspected so there may be some residual oil left in the machine so please fill with caution. Remove the oil filler cap.

    Operation Grass Collection Lift the rear discharge flap. Remove the mulching plug if installed. Lift the back end of the grass collector up high to get the front hooks over the bars.     Operation Mulching Lift the rear discharge flap and remove the grass collector. Install the mulching plug. Lower the rear discharge flap. What Is Mulching? Mulching is the intelligent way to keep your lawn healthy. This is when the grass clippings are cut into fine pieces which then fall back into the soil.

    Operation Side Discharge Lift the rear discharge flap and remove the grass collector. Install the mulching plug and lower the rear discharge flap. Lift the catch on the side discharge flap and lift the flap. Hook the side discharge chute over the mounting points and lower the side discharge flap until it rests on the side discharge chute.

    Operation Rear Discharge Lift the rear discharge flap and remove the grass collector. Install the 2 rear discharge supports and rest the rear discharge flap onto the supports. These are the rear discharge plugs. They will keep the rear discharge flap open slightly for the grass clippings to discharge.

    Operation Cutting Height Adjustment Make sure the engine is off. Pull the adjustment lever outwards and select the required height. The height is automatically adjusted for all wheels.     Operation General Mowing Tips Maintain a constant cutting height of 3-5cm. Do not shorten the grass to less than half its original height. Under certain conditions, such as very tall grass, it may be necessary to raise the height of cut to reduce pushing effort, prevent overloading of the motor and leaving clumps of grass clippings.

Petrol machines produce carbon monoxide – poisonous, colourless and odourless gas that can cause serious injury or death. Petrol is highly flammable, always handle with extreme care and in a well ventilated area.

  • Page 41 Stopping Procedure Stopping CAUTION - The engine and exhaust will remain hot for a while after use. Ensure the engine and exhaust has cooled before carrying out any maintenance, refuelling or storage. Before stopping the machine, you must allow the engine to idle for 30 seconds. You do not need to do this if you need to emergency stop the engine.

    Maintenance Maintenance Safety IMPORTANT - Routine and accurate maintenance is essential for maintaining original machine safety and performance levels. WARNING - Before cleaning or doing maintenance work, you need to stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug cable and read the relevant instructions. You need to wear proper clothing and protective gloves whenever your hands are at risk.

    Maintenance Transportation Whenever the machine is to be handled, lifted, transported or tilted, you must: Wear sturdy work gloves. Hold the machine at the points that offer a safe grip, taking into account the weight and relative distribution of the same. Use an appropriate number of people for the weight of the machine and the characteristics of the vehicle or the place where it must be placed or collected.

When using the machine in very dusty areas you must clean or replace the air filter more often. Never operate the machine without the air filter being fitted it can cause damage to the engine which is not covered by warranty.

    Maintenance Spark Plug For good performance, the spark plug must be properly gapped and free of deposits. You MUST allow the engine to cool down before carrying out any maintenance. Always use the correct spark plug. To check the spark plug, remove the spark plug HT lead cap and remove the spark plug with the spark plug wrench.
