7.4 Approvals and standards
The following figure shows the rating plate with an example of possible approvals. The rating
plate is attached to the inside of the front panel.
Note
Only the approvals specified on the rating plate apply to the respective device.
Possible approvals are listed in the following section.
CE approval
The device complies with European standards for programmable logic controllers which
were published in the Official Journals of the European Union:
● 2004/108/EC "Electromagnetic Compatibility" (EMC Directive)
● Low-Voltage Directive
Directive 2006/95/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 12 December 2006 on
the harmonization of the laws of the Member States relating to electrical equipment
designed for use within certain voltage limits.
Notes on CE marking
Implement appropriate measures for:
● Automatic shutdown in case of error (overcurrent protective device).
● Ability to reach the cut-off switch of the carrier controller.
● Safe reaction of the system to the failure and return of voltage or voltage drop.
● Preventing unsafe operating modes and operating mode changes.
● Safe reaction to start and stop of the system and at emergency stop.
