Cleaning the track

1. Place the Track Cleaner on the track and couple it to your train. We recommend that you
couple the Track Cleaner behind your locomotive. Until the track dries completely,
track cleaning fluid may decrease the traction of the locomotive.
Single motor diesel locomotives may not have sufficient pulling power to pull the

2. Slide the fluid application lever to the ON position for approximately three seconds, then
return the lever to the OFF position. Refer to Figure 3.

to determine what works best for your layout.
3. Run the Track Cleaner around your layout.
4. If necessary, slide the fluid application lever to the ON position to add more fluid to the
track cleaning ring, but slide the lever to the OFF position before starting your engine.
