8. Assembly & connection, putting into operation
When in doubt about how to assemble the device correctly, please contact an EXPERT or a
specialist workshop and let them carry it out !
Incorrect assembly involves various dangers such as short-circuit, electric shock or fire.
Take note of the safety instructions included in this operating manual (see chapter 5).
a) Assembly & connection
• First separate your garden pump from the mains voltage, pull out the mains plug.
• Open the water tap or the nozzle at the extremity of the hose of the pressure side of your garden pump so that
the remaining over pressure can escape.
• Remove the hose at the outlet of your garden pump (pressure side).
• Install the pressure switch at the outlet of the garden pump; a piece of hose can be inserted between garden pump
and pressure switch.
Make sure during assembly not to interchange inlet and outlet of the pressure switch! Take note of the
figure in chapter 7.
Never mount the pressure switch on the intake side of the garden pump!
Always use an appropriate pressure hose (do not use a siphon pipe).
• Connect the pressure hose with the outlet of the pressure switch.
• Now connect the mains plug of the pump to the power outlet of the pressure switch.
The power supply of the garden pump is carried out via the pressure switch. Do not connect it to a normal
mains power outlet any more!
b) Operation
• Open the water tap on the pressure side. This lets air escape from the pressure switch and the pressure hose.
• Connect the mains plug of the pressure switch to a mains socket with protective earth conductor.
• The pressure switch activates the garden pump.
Once water is pumped, close the water tap on the pressure side. The garden pump runs further for a little while
until a certain pre-set operation pressure is reached.
• If the pressure switch determines no flow rate, then it switches the garden pump automatically off. This protects
the pump from running dry. In this case, the LED "ALARM ON" flashes.
Check in this case if the suction hose is correctly installed; make sure that no stop valve in the suction hose is
accidentally shut; check if a filter is dirty.
