6.3 Proportional Control Demonstration

The proportional control algorithm monitors the control temperature of the Circuit and
compares it to the setpoint temperature. If the control temperature is at or below the
setpoint temperature, then power is applied to the heater with a duty cycle of 100%. If the
control temperature is equal to or greater than the control setpoint temperature + 4°F, then
the relay output will have a duty cycle of 0%. The control temperature is constantly
monitored, and the output duty cycle is adjusted proportionally once per second.

CIRCUIT 1- USING THE LED LIGHT

6.3.1
Go to Setup|Circuit and confirm that the control mode for Circuit 1 is proportional.
Below 87°F, LED is 100% on.
Hold the RTD in your hand. At 87°F, the proportional control algorithm begins.
At 91°F, the LED light flashes, and at 94°F LED is off.
