Start the compressor (refer to Before Starting and Starting in the
Operating Section in this manual) and check for leakage before the
compressor is returned to service.

Compressor Oil Separator Element

Refer to the Maintenance Schedule in this section for the recommended servicing intervals. If
element has to be replaced, proceed as follows:

Removal

Do not remove the filter(s) without first verifying the compressor has
shutdown and the system has been completely relieved of all air
pressure. (Refer to SHUTDOWN in the Operating Instructions Section in
this manual).
Disconnect all hoses and wiring harness attachments from the separator tank cover plate.
Remove the drop tube from the separator tank cover plate and then remove the cover plate
bolts. Remove the air outlet pipe between the cover and connecting piping. Save the sealing
O-Rings in the piping flanges for re-use.
Rotate the 3/4" bolt in the bottom of the Davit Post (clockwise looking at the head of the bolt)
to raise the tank cover. Use a screwdriver to free the element gasket from the underside of the
tank cover. Use the Davit to rotate the tank cover to gain access to the element.
Break the element gasket free from the tank. Do not drop debris into the tank. Remove the
separator element.

lnspection

Examine the separator element. Examine all hoses and tubes and replace if necessary.
