Storage of new turbochargers
New turbochargers supplied by ABB Turbo Systems can be stored without
additional safeguarding measures for a period of 6 months after the deliv-
ery date.
Suitable storage locations are dry rooms where the relative humidity is be-
tween 40-70% and no condensation can form.
After expiry of the 6 months, all surfaces and accessible areas of the
turbocharger should be sprayed with anticorrosive agent.
To do this, the insulating materials must be removed.
Repeat the described measures every 6 months to keep your turbo-
charger free from rust.
