6. OPERATION AND USE Warnings Regarding Use The stretcher can not be used in an explosive or flammable atmosphere (like Warning decompression chamber). The stretcher has been designed and manufactured exclusively for professional use. Use the stretcher only as indicated in this manual. Read the instructions carefully before using the stretcher and follow the prescribed operating procedures.

6.4 Lifting and Lowering the Stretcher Always advise the patient before adjusting the stretcher’s height. Warning UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES put objects between the base and the movable part. DO NOT MOVE the moving parts by hand, and follow the instructions carefully. Warning The regulation of the stretcher height is obtained by two hydraulic columns powered by pedals on the stretcher sides towards the back.
6.5 Lifting and Lowering the Back Always advise the patient, before lifting and lowering the back. Warning The regulation of the backrest is obtained by a lever that powers a gas spring that permits the movement of the backrest. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES put objects between the stretcherspring’s frame and the back section.
6.6 Lifting and Lowering the Upper Leg Section (E-MED 1400) Always advise the patient, before lifting or lowering the upper leg sections. Warning The regulation of the upper leg section (22) is obtained by lever (24) which powers a gas spring. The lever is situated on both sides of the stretcher.
6.7 Movement of the Leg Section (E-MED 1400) Always advise the patient, before lifting or lowering the leg sections. Warning The leg section (3) is regulated by a rack type locking mechanism. Do not release the section if you are not sure that the locking mechanism is perfectly locked.
6.8 Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg Always advise the patient, before lifting and lowering the back. Warning Secure the patient with the safety belt before performing any Trendelenburg’s adjusment. Warning Pedals (11) and (12) regulate trendelenburg and reverse Ttrendelenburg positions. 6.10 Use of the Stretcher with the Brilliance Amplifier Underneath the stretcher sections there is a slide drawer for the brilliance amplifier (25), located on appropriate guides (16), in order facilitate the x-ray examination of the patient in any position required and of whichever part of the body that is to be examined.
7. MAINTENANCE 7.1 Ordinary Maintenance Check the stretcher once a month, or more frequently if the product is used in heavy-duty circumstances. The inspection must include the search for anything that could compromise the integrity, and correct operation of the stretcher, e.g. bent or broken parts. During the inspection it is necessary to carry out the same operating test described in “Testing”.
7.4 Adjusting We recommend you to contact the “Sidhil customer service” in order to ensure the correct performance of overhaul and replacement Caution Every year perform a check of all the moving parts, especially for that stretschers under stress: the said stretchers must not present wear signs.
7.9 Disposal If you decide to no longer use this item, it is necessary to declare it inoperable. We also recommend that any dangerous parts which could cause damage are made safe. Evaluate the class of the object according to the degree of disposal. Dispose together with iron material and send it to the appropriate waste disposal centres.
The equipment is to be repaired under warranty by authorised technicians after the user has made a request to the retailer or directly to Sidhil, and within time limits compatible with organisational requirements. Repairs made in the warranty period do not imply extensions or renewals of warranty coverage.
9. ACCESSORIES 9.1 E-MED IV Pole Technical Presentation The IV pole is composed of a tube made of chromium plated steel. On the tube’s end have been welded two shaped hooks made of chromium plated steel. Maintenance and Cleaning Diluted solution of sodium hypochlorite can be used only while pre-washing at low temperatures, then rinse thoroughly. Caution The mattress can be washed with common detergents and hydrogen peroxide. It can be sterilised at 134°C for not more than 7 minutes.
