Plugged into your local Ethernet network, this receiver collects data wirelessly from various types of Smart-Vue end-point modules, including temperature, humidity and other sensors, and transfers it to the Smart-Vue Server data monitoring software. Network receivers are particularly useful when you need to read one or more groups of Smart-Vue modules that are located remotely from the Smart-Vue Server computer used to monitor the data.

How it works In the Smart-Vue Client monitoring application, the Smart-Vue Network Receiver functions as if it were connected directly to your Smart-Vue Server computer, like a serial or USB receiver. The difference is that the receiver resides on the Ethernet network and communicates via TCP/IP.

Using port redirection, virtual COM ports behave just like regular local receivers in ports. After you have completed the previous installation steps, your network receiver can be configured in Smart-Vue Client just like any other Smart-Vue Client receiver on a local serial or USB port.
