12) Pulse rise (fall) time measurement
Measuring procedure
The rise (fall) time can be obtained by measuring the time
between the 1 0 % and 9 0 % of the peak value.
1) Connect the signal to be measured to the INPUT ter-
minal, set the vertical MODE switch to the channel us-
ed, and adjust the V O L T S / D I V . V A R I A B L E control so
that the displayed waveform occupies 5 divisions.
2) Set the S W E E P T I M E / D I V . control to the fastest range,
and set the S W E E P V A R I A B L E to C A L .
3) Adjust T POSITION so that the waveform is positioned
between 0 % and 1 0 0 % of the scale.
4) Set the cursor mode to AT.

5) Align
the
sursor with the
measured waveform crosses the 1 0 % scale, and the
A cursor to the point where the measured waveform
crosses the 9 0 % scale.
6) The measurement result is displayed on the right of AT on
the screen.
NOTE: If the input signal frequency is low, the sampling
rate drops making coarse dots noticeable.
The rise time measurement could sometimes be im-
possible in other ranges than the fastest range.
