SIDE BROOM HEIGHT CHECK AND ADJUSTMENT

NOTE
Brooms with harder or softer bristles are available.
This procedure is applicable to all types of brooms.
1. Check the side broom distance from the floor according to the following
procedures:
• Drive the machine onto level ground.
• Adjust speed adjusting knob (A, Figure 27) to minimize driving
speed.
• Press side broom button (B, Figure 27) to lower the side broom and
turn it on for about one minute by pressing the accelerator pedal.
• Check that the side broom prints are as shown in the figure (A and
B, Figure 28).
If the print is not within specifications, adjust the side broom height
according to the following procedures.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Turn the ignition key to "O".
4. Unscrew the knobs (A, Figure 22) and remove the left cover (B, Figure
22).
5. Adjust the side broom adjuster (C, Figure 29) until the proper print (A and
B, Figure 28) is achieved. Then fasten the adjuster with the ring nut (D,
Figure 29).
6. Perform step 1 again to check the proper adjustment of the side broom
height.
7. When the broom is too worn to be adjusted, replace it as shown in the Side
Broom Installation chapter.
