Personal flotation device
1. Fill the personal flotation device with compressed air via
one of the mouth valves until the adjacent relief valve
opens.
2. Then apply the compressed air to the other mouth valve
and check that the relief valve there opens. If one of the
valves does not open, its function can be checked by
pulling on the quick-release line.
3. Release the pressure in the personal flotation device to a
pressure of 100 mbar.
4. Leave the personal flotation device for 16 hours.
After 16 hours, the remaining pressure in the personal
flotation device must be at least 60 mbar.

1. Open the zipper of the protective cover on the buoyancy
compensator along the weight pack.
2. The inflators become visible on both sides of the weight
pack.
3. Unscrew and weigh the CO
must correspond to the gross weight printed on the
cartridge ("GW approx. 260 g"). If the gross weight GW is
not reached, the cartridge is not permitted to be used and
must be replaced.
4. Check the release lever (2). The lever must be folded into
the housing.
5. Insert a cartridge tested for the correct weight or a new
CO
cartridge from below through the belt and plastic loops

Marking the number of emergency
ascents
An emergency ascent from water depths of up to 23 m puts
extreme strain on the personal flotation device. Therefore, the
personal flotation device must be discarded at the latest after
5 emergency ascents. To log the number of emergency
ascents, 5 small holes are located at the side of the personal
flotation device. After an emergency ascent, cut open one hole
towards the edge of the personal flotation device.
CAUTION
!
Damage to material!
Sharp or pointed objects can damage the personal
flotation device.
When cutting, always cut away from the personal
flotation device.
Furthermore, the emergency ascent is to be recorded in the
service life record, see "Service life record" on Page 14.
