Operation

The CS-2072 receiver is more effective when it is held perpendicular to the
breaker. Refer to the orientation label located on the bottom of the receiver wand.
Electric shock and fire hazard:
• For indoor use only on standard 110 VAC to 120 VAC circuits.
• Receiver not intended for contact with live circuits.
Failure to observe this warning could result in severe injury or death.
Note:
• Connect the transmitter to a known live circuit and verify that the
LED glows.
• Slide the receiver switch to the ON position and verify that the red
LED on the receiver glows. If the red LED is not lit, replace the
battery.
• If the transmitter or receiver does not function as expected, return
to Greenlee for repair. Refer to the instructions under Warranty.
1.
Plug the transmitter into the outlet that needs to be turned off or identified.
Note: In order to transmit its signal, the transmitter must receive power from
the circuit under test.
2.
Verify that the red LED on the transmitter glows, indicating a live circuit.
3.
Go to the circuit panel. Turn on the receiver and hold it against the breaker as
shown below.

4.
Slowly scan the receiver over all breakers. This calibrates the unit. If you have
more than one panel, be sure to perform this step on each panel. Do not turn
off the receiver.
5.
Perform a second pass over the breakers. When the green LED glows and the
buzzer sounds, you are directly over the breaker connected to the transmitter.
6.
Label the breaker, if desired.
7.
To work on the circuit, turn off the breaker.
8.
Verify that the red LED on the transmitter is off, indicating a dead circuit,
before beginning work.
