OPERATION

Preparation for Measurement
1. Set rotary switch to desired function before connecting test leads to item being tested.
2. Always disconnect test leads from item being tested before changing the rotary function
selector.
3. If the unit is used near equipment that generates electro-magnetic interference, the display
may be unstable or indicate incorrect measurement values.
Feature Usage
Peak Hold - Utilized with AC Voltage or Current measurements, this function holds the
peak measurement on the display. Push Peak Hold (P-H) before taking measurement. P-H
will appear on the display. Take measurement and the maximum rms value will appear on
the display. Push Peak Hold button again to turn off this feature.
Data Hold - Push this button (D-H) when taking a measurement and the measurement
value shown at time button is pushed will be held on the display.
Voltage Measurement
IMPORTANT: Please refer to Safety Information about exceeding voltage maximums.
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the V
2. Set the rotary selector switch to the AC V
testing.
NOTE: If measuring an unknown voltage, start at the highest range then adjust to the proper
lower range for best resolution.
3. Connect the test leads across the source or load being measured. The polarity of the red
lead connection will be indicated at the same time the voltage is displayed.
Current Measurement
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the mA terminal for
a maximum of 200mA. For a maximum of 10A, connect the red test lead to the 10A
terminal.
2. Set the rotary switch to the desired AC (A
NOTE: If measuring an unknown current, start at the highest range then adjust to the proper
lower range for best resolution.
3. Turn off power to item being tested. Connect the test leads in series with the load being
measured.
4. Turn on power to item being measured and read value on display. Turn off power again
before disconnecting leads.
Diode Check
IMPORTANT: Before taking any in circuit measurement remove power from the circuit and
discharge all capacitors in the circuit.
